Job summary

The City of Fishers seeks an Epidemiologist to support the Fishers Health Department in improving community health through data-driven decision-making and evidence-informed practice. The role focuses on analyzing epidemiologic data, coordinating the CHA and CHIP, and developing dashboards and reports for informed leadership decisions.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Epidemiology, Public Health (or related) required.
• Minimum of three years of relevant professional experience.
• Ability to analyze data and communicate actionable findings.
• Experience with dashboards, data visualization, or performance reporting.
• Public health accreditation familiarity preferred.

Responsibilities

• Research, collect, analyze, and interpret epidemiologic data to identify health trends and opportunities for intervention.
• Coordinate CHA/CHIP activities including data collection, analysis, community engagement, and progress monitoring.
• Develop and maintain analytical databases, dashboards, and reporting tools for surveillance and decision-making.
• Develop departmental performance measures, indicators, and systems to monitor progress toward goals.
• Design and conduct program evaluations to assess effectiveness and improvements.
• Collaborate with staff to establish objectives, evaluate performance, and recommend improvements.
• Prepare monthly Board of Health reports and the department's annual report.
• Support strategic planning, quality improvement, and accreditation activities.
• Coordinate public health projects with work plans, timelines, and stakeholder collaboration.
• Research emerging public health practices and inform program development.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and data visualizations for leadership and partners.
• Provide technical assistance to staff regarding data collection and reporting.
• Support disease surveillance, outbreak investigations, and emergency response as needed.
• Assist with grant-funded initiatives including data analysis and reporting.
