Ashtabula County Health Department seeks a Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) to inspect environmental health programs and educate officials and the public on related issues in Ohio. The position works under supervision and supports core public health functions across food safety, water, sewage, pools, and camps.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree, current Ohio REHS status, a valid driver's license, and strong English communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Meets requirements to be a Registered Environmental Health Specialist per Ohio Department of Health.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to read and comprehend advanced technical instructions and memos; present information clearly.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills; GIS experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Inspect environmental health programs (food safety, private water, sewage, pools, camps) and support public health services.
• Educate local officials and community members on environmental health issues.
• Participate in emergency preparedness exercises and trainings; follow public health emergency plans.
