Job summary

The Municipality of Anchorage, through the Anchorage Health Department, seeks a Program Manager of Emergency Response and Preparedness to lead the PHEP grant programs, manage budgets, and provide technical guidance on program development in state and local contexts.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent and 8 years of experience in the field related to the position.
  • OR Associate's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Resources, Purchasing, Computer Information Systems, Finance or similar discipline and six years of experience in the field related to the position.
  • OR Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Resources, Purchasing, Computer Information Systems, Finance or similar discipline and four years of experience in the field related to the position.
  • OR Master's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Resources, Purchasing, Computer Information Systems, Finance or similar discipline and two years of experience in the field related to the position.
  • A valid State of Alaska Driver's License with satisfactory driving record at time of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) grant, including program planning, management, and financial oversight of budgets.
  • Directly supervise the Emergency Preparedness Team and staff performance evaluations.
  • Provide technical guidance on planning, research, project implementation, and inventory control of supplies and equipment.
  • Coordinate with the Anchorage Health Department's Crisis Health Action Team (CHAT) and municipal Emergency Operations Center (EOC).
  • In case of disasters, support emergency operations responses and recovery.
