Job summary

Umatilla School District in Hermiston seeks a Public Health Emergency Preparedness Coordinator to lead local PHEP efforts, working with community partners to plan, implement and evaluate preparedness activities.

You will coordinate with state and local agencies, promote awareness, manage plans and reports, and participate in after-hours events as needed to strengthen emergency response across Umatilla County.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in public health or related field is required or demonstrated equivalent experience.
• Experience in public speaking and presentations to stakeholder groups.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid Oregon driver's license; background check and drug screen required.
• Willingness to work outside normal hours and travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Lead implementation of the PHEP program and collaborate with partners to set goals and evaluate plans.
• Assist with response planning activities, exercises, and workshops; promote awareness via social media.
• Prepare written plans and reports in line with OHA requirements and maintain planning documents.
• Act as Emergency Support Function 8 representative for UCo Health as needed.
• Coordinate with Oregon Health Authority and local authorities on timelines and updates.
