The Jefferson County Health Department is seeking part-time experienced Nutrition Consultants to plan, coordinate, implement, and oversee WIC and related nutrition programs, assess eligibility, provide nutrition education, and monitor progress.

You will supervise clinic operations, ensure compliance with federal/state rules, coordinate with vendors and community partners, and maintain records. This flexible role travels between Central, Western, and Eastern locations and is not benefit eligible.

Qualifications

• CDR registration is required.
• Alabama licensure is required.
• Out-of-state license with Alabama licensure within 90 days of hire is required.
• Must obtain CDR registration within six months of hire.

Responsabilités

• Evaluates community nutrition and health needs using population indicators and trends.
• Administers federally funded nutrition programs by coordinating WIC services and partnerships.
• Oversees WIC operations, monitors participation, and ensures funding compliance.
• Verifies eligibility via client interviews, nutrition history, and documentation.
• Provides personalized nutrition counseling, infant feeding guidance, and culturally appropriate care.
