Job summary

The Jefferson County Department of Health is seeking part-time experienced Nutrition Consultants to plan, coordinate, implement, and oversee public health nutrition programs and services, including the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program.

Employees assess individuals and families for eligibility, provide nutrition education and counseling, develop appropriate nutrition interventions, and monitor participant progress and compliance with program requirements.

Qualifications

• CDR registration is required.
• Alabama licensure or eligibility to obtain Alabama licensure within 90 days of hire.
• If applicable, licensure from another state with requirement to obtain Alabama licensure within 90 days of hire.
• CDR registration must be obtained within six months of hire date if not currently held.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, implement, and oversee WIC and related nutrition programs.
• Assess eligibility, provide nutrition education and counseling, and monitor progress.
• Oversee WIC clinic operations, staff, and workflow, and coordinate with vendors/community partners.
