Florida Department of Health in Polk County is seeking a Dental Assistant to provide dental assisting with expanded functions and educational dental health programs. The role operates under supervision and supports multiple dental clinics in Polk County, ensuring accurate charting and patient care.

The incumbent will greet patients, perform 4-handed dentistry, expose radiographs, and maintain electronic and paper records.

Qualifications

Must have knowledge of dental procedures and sterilization/disinfection.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and convey information clearly.
Strong communication skills in writing and speech; active listening.
Ability to establish effective working relationships and adapt to team actions.
Knowledge of dental terminology and basic medical terminology.
CPR certification and dental expanded functions credentials required.

Responsabilités

Greet patients with courtesy, verify identification, and document chart information.
Assist with 4-handed dentistry and perform expanded functions.
Expose radiographs and manage digital or manual records in EagleSoft/HMS.
Submit daily reports, manage billing, scheduling, and client registration.
Maintain infection control, sterilize instruments, and prepare operatory.
Travel to dental clinics to provide coverage as needed.
