The CDC Foundation is seeking a dependable and collaborative Business Analyst to support the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) Division of Data Strategy and Transformation (DST), within the Office of Health Data, Strategy, and Innovation (OHDSI). This office leads enterprise data modernization across the Department. A central component of this work is the Enterprise Data Platform (EDP), DPH’s cloud-based data platform that enables secure access to enterprise data while supporting modern analytics and data integration.
Under the direction of the Portfolio and Project Manager, the Business Analyst serves as the primary liaison between public health programs and technical teams. The Business Analyst will conduct discovery of business processes and data workflows, identify functional needs, document requirements, and translate them into specifications for technical implementation.
Working closely with epidemiologists, program managers, data stewards, architects, engineers, and project managers, the Business Analyst will support enterprise data onboarding, define requirements for data products and modernization initiatives, and help identify solutions that improve how data are managed, analyzed, and shared across the Department.
This role is involved in a dynamic public health program. As such, roles and responsibilities are subject to change as situations evolve. Roles and responsibilities listed above may be expanded upon or updated to match priorities and needs, once written approval is received by both the CDC Foundation and Massachusetts Department of Public Health in order to best support the Massachusetts Department of Public Health in their public health programming.
This position is a hybrid position with the expectation of one in-office day per week. This position will prioritize candidates residing in Massachusetts or the proximate New England Region.
