Job summary

DC Health (The District of Columbia Department of Health) seeks an IT Specialist (Interoperability) to advance public health data modernization and interoperability initiatives within the Office of Information Technology. You will work on data exchange, HL7/FHIR standards, and collaboration with vendors and agencies to ensure secure, compliant data sharing.

The role oversees integration projects, data catalogs, regulatory compliance, and data quality efforts to strengthen health information

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent with 24 credit hours in relevant fields and development of applications/systems.
• IT-related experience showing detail, customer service, oral communication and problem solving competencies.
• Specialized experience in interoperability projects using integration engines preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages integration software components and database tables for interoperability tools (e.g., Rhapsody, Mirth).
• Coordinates data requests with DC Health IT and admins to ensure access and regulatory compliance.
• Maintains and audits data catalogs, data dictionaries, and data flow documents for interoperability.
• Supports ETL processes and automation, and helps improve workflows through digitization and technology.
