Job summary

Cherokee Federal is seeking a Public Health Data & Documentation Specialist (Data Manager) to maintain program records, process structured data, and generate documentation packets for surveillance systems.

You will develop reproducible workflows in R, R Markdown, Power BI, Excel, and Access, perform data cleaning and validation, and coordinate with partners to support public health outcomes. This is a full-time role with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in public health or related field is required.
• Proficiency with R, SAS, Excel, and Power BI daily.
• Experience with health information systems and structured data management.
• Experience creating reproducible workflows and automated documentation.
• Ability to document SOPs, codebooks, and data dictionaries.

Responsibilities

• Pilot new or revised workflows and document issues for routine implementation.
• Update program, surveillance, and tracking systems to keep records current.
• Ingest and validate structured data to generate letters and documentation packets.
• Manage data files, packets, letters, and logs in approved systems.
• Develop reproducible workflows using R, R Markdown, Power BI, Excel, or Access.
• Monitor workflow volume, turnaround times, and key program metrics.
• Perform data cleaning, merging, deduplication, and preliminary analyses.
• Prepare data dictionaries, SOPs, and version-control procedures.
• Identify data discrepancies and drive process improvements with partners.
• Provide project management support, including timelines and deliverables.
