Job summary

DLH Corporation is seeking a Data Analyst to join our team supporting the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, GA. The role focuses on data management, analysis, and dissemination to strengthen HIV surveillance efforts nationwide.

You will translate SAS to R, validate datasets, and generate quality metrics while collaborating with cross-functional teams and maintaining documentation.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in public health or related field.
• 2 years of experience generating SAS and R outputs.
• Must have scientific writing skills, supervisory skills, and advanced knowledge of statistics.
• Ability to work with multiple data sources to monitor and assess data quality.

Responsibilities

• Provide training and demonstration on translating SAS programs to R.
• Develop R and SAS programs for validating surveillance study data.
• Verify that all variables that should be included in the resulting dataset are present and extraneous variables are excluded.
• Identify data discrepancies and other inconsistencies in the resulting dataset.
• Run duplicate procedures and compare results to ensure validity with standards of the final datasets, indicators, and metadata.
• Determine that variables calculated during data processing are correct (e.g., race/ethnicity).
• Ensure lost interviews are added to the resulting dataset.
• Generate data tables reflecting aggregate numbers for key indicators of data quality.
• Review output from R and SAS programs and identify problems in the output.
• Review online data error logs to ensure data modifications follow study rules.
• Identify errors/omissions of variable formats or labels; document problems and proposed corrections.
• Review data files containing raw interviews to ensure data integrity.
• Review the quality of weights generated for venue-based sampling cycles.
