Job summary

CDC Roybal Campus in Atlanta seeks a hands-on Public Health Data Analyst to support monitoring and response efforts. You will manage CTMP and response datasets, perform quality checks, and build reproducible analytic products and dashboards for program leaders and stakeholders.

This full-time contract runs through January 2027 with potential extension, requiring clear documentation, strong data governance, and collaboration with program and technical partners to meet tight timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in data science, statistics, CS, public health informatics, or related field.
• Experience ingesting, cleaning, validating, transforming datasets and documenting processes.
• Proficiency with SQL and Python, R, or SAS.
• Experience creating dashboards with Power BI or Tableau.
• Ability to develop reproducible reports and communicate findings to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
• Strong focus on data quality, organization, and meeting deadlines.
• Ability to complete federal background investigation and credentialing for CDC assignment.

Responsibilities

• Ingest, organize, clean, validate, and transform data from multiple sources.
• Manage datasets and database workflows, including data structure, updates, integrity checks, and access procedures.
• Develop and maintain repeatable QA, reconciliation, and error resolution processes; document data definitions and methods.
• Analyze data to identify trends and support public health response needs.
• Build dashboards, visualizations, and reports that present actionable findings.
• Produce reproducible analytic deliverables with documented queries or code.
• Translate technical findings into clear summaries and presentations for decision-making.
• Collaborate with program and technical partners to meet deliverable timelines.
• Handle sensitive information per program requirements and access controls.
