Job summary

The Office of General Counsel at the South Carolina Department of Public Health seeks an experienced attorney to join the Administration Team as a legal advisor. You will guide federal and state contract law, advise on procurements, and help ensure compliance across agency operations.

You will work within a collaborative environment, supporting business management, finance, human resources, IT, and security.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school and current practicing attorney.
• Experience advising on contracts, procurements, and compliance.
• Ability to work with state agencies and executives.

Responsibilities

• Advise administration on contracts and grants.
• Review and advise on contracts and procurement agreements.
• Represent the agency in procurement disputes.
• Assist in developing procedures to improve efficiency and compliance.
• Coordinate with HR, IT, and privacy/FOIA offices.
