Job summary

The Florida Department of Health in Hernando County is seeking an OPS Health Support Technician to perform routine healthcare tasks in the Hernando County Health Department. You will greet and escort clients, assist in labs and clinics, schedule appointments, and document information in the electronic health record.

You will support providers with patient exams, phlebotomy duties, specimen processing, and laboratory testing while ensuring quality control and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic computer software and data entry in health records.
• Knowledge of basic phlebotomy practices and safety procedures.
• Skill in using medical instruments and taking vital signs.
• Ability to interview patients and obtain medical history.
• Ability to document results in the electronic health record with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Greet and escort clients and assist providers with exams and procedures.

• Assist in lab tasks: venipuncture, tests, and quality control.
• Set up exam rooms, maintain supplies, and restock as needed.
