Job summary

The Muscogee Nation Department of Health seeks a licensed dentist to provide dental health services to the designated population. This exempt position operates under MCNDH policies and adheres to IHS and PHS guidelines.

It is an on-site role in Oklahoma with a focus on high-quality patient care. The successful candidate will evaluate patients, develop treatment plans, perform radiographs and anesthesia, and coordinate with other health professionals to promote overall oral health.

Qualifications

• DDS or DMD from a dental school accredited by CODA.
• Minimum 1 year experience or new graduate with IHS preceptorship preferred.
• Licensed or eligible to practice in Oklahoma.

Responsibilities

• Reviews patient charts for disease or abnormalities and ensures safe treatment.
• Performs oral examinations and records findings in patient charts.
• Diagnoses conditions, develops treatment plans, and refers for needed care.
• Requests radiographs, interprets images and administers local anesthesia.
• Performs restorations with amalgam/composites and provides preventive care.
• Performs extractions and removal of impacted teeth when needed.
• Performs root canal therapy and routine periodontal procedures.
• Engages in public relations with health disciplines and the community.
• Participates in program development and facility evaluations.
• Delivers services aligned with MCNDH, IHS and PHS policies.
• Regular attendance is required and other duties as assigned.
