Job summary

The Louisiana Department of Health seeks Medical Certification Specialists 1-2 to ensure healthcare compliance across the state. You will perform on-site surveys, review records, interview staff, and prepare findings to support licensure and certification.

Qualifications

• This position requires strong critical thinking and investigative skills along with a passion for public health.
• Current Louisiana license in a health services, health regulation, or social services field with related experience.
• Bachelor's degree with two years of relevant experience; or a Master’s degree with related experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site surveys and complaint investigations to ensure compliance with state/federal regulations, including Medicare/Medicaid standards.
• Review facility records, policies, and procedures for adherence to healthcare laws and quality standards.
• Interview patients, residents, staff, and administrators to gather information on operations and service delivery.
• Prepare detailed reports, documentation, and recommendations based on findings.
• Provide guidance to facility administrators on regulatory compliance and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with team members and agencies to ensure consistent licensing and certification practices.
