Suffolk County is seeking a senior leader to oversee the Bureau of Epidemiology of Disease Control, directing disease surveillance, investigations, and outbreak control for 70+ reportable diseases.

The role requires a Master’s in Nursing, Public Health, or related field and at least six years nursing experience with significant administrative responsibilities. Active NY RN license and transportation readiness are required.

Formación

• Master's Degree in Nursing, Public Health or equivalent health-related field required.
• Six years nursing experience with at least four in an administrative or supervisory role.
• Active Professional RN license and NYS vehicle operator license or ability to meet transportation needs.

Responsabilidades

• Oversees the Bureau of Epidemiology of Disease Control, responsible for prevention of communicable diseases in Suffolk County.
• Acts as bureau chief supervising both clinical and non-clinical functions.
• Oversees disease surveillance, investigation and control for 70+ reportable diseases; includes case and cluster investigation and outbreak control.
• Develops policies and procedures with the Director of Public Health.
• Responds to calls from residents and healthcare facilities regarding cases, suspected cases, and exposures; provides guidance and initiates appropriate actions.
• May work in the field and participate in community public health education and emergency preparedness activities.
