Job summary

The State of Nevada Health Authority, Office of Analytics, seeks a Biostatistician 2 to support WIC-related data analysis in Reno or Carson City. You will analyze complex datasets, link and validate data across sources, and deliver routine and ad hoc reports for internal and external stakeholders.

You will develop, document, and maintain analytic code using SAS/SQL, translating technical findings into clear insights for public health decision-making under tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in statistics, mathematics, or closely related field plus applicable experience.
• At least 1 year of professional statistical analysis experience.
• Experience with health data and SAS/SQL.
• Ability to translate findings for stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and link databases; conduct health studies and prepare statistical reports.
• Provide management with descriptive summaries and evaluations of numeric data for policy development.
• Compile and analyze vital statistics for the State and prepare annual health reports.
• Conduct rigorous statistical analyses and evaluate state program effectiveness.
