Job summary

The Biostatistician 2 position within the Nevada Health Authority's Office of Analytics is based in Reno or Carson City. The analyst supports data related to the WIC program, contributing to public health program evaluation, planning, and decision-making.

The role conducts statistical analyses, data linkage, validation, and reports for internal and external stakeholders. The incumbent develops, documents, and maintains analytic code using SAS, SQL, and/or comparable statistical software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in statistics, mathematics, or a closely related field.
• One year of professional statistical analysis experience or equivalent in Nevada state service.
• Experience with data linkage, validation, and quality assurance across multiple data sources.
• Ability to translate technical findings into clear, actionable information for stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Conduct statistical analyses of complex datasets to evaluate trends and program performance.
• Perform data linkage, validation, and QA across multiple data sources and systems.
• Produce routine and ad hoc reports and analytic summaries for internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop, document, and maintain analytic code using SAS, SQL, and/or comparable tools.
• Translate technical findings into clear recommendations to inform policy and program planning.
