**Summary **

Responsible for performing tasks including maintenance and repair of grounds, buildings and facilities owned by the City of Macon, Missouri.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Pick up trash and debris on City property
• Mow and trim all grounds owned by City
• Paint and repair benches, playground equipment, and other park facilities
• Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment (e.g. mowers, power tools, etc.)
• Operate tractors, riding mowers, and other heavy equipment
• Receive and complete various forms, work orders, reports, and other documents
• Perform janitorial and custodial maintenance of recreational facilities, grounds, and buildings: to include restroom maintenance and trash disposal
• Prepare and set up for a variety of events
• Plow and haul snow, work with the street department and subject to weather callouts as needed for snow removal
• Perform other duties as assigned

Education/Experience

• High school diploma/GED required
• No previous experience required; employee is expected to make reasonable progression in proficiency within three (3) months of employment

Licenses / Certifications / Requirements

• Valid Missouri Class B Driver License (General Knowledge and Air Brakes) within six (6) months from date of hire
• Proof of citizenship and/or eligibility to legally work in the United States of America
• Must submit to and pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
• Must comply with Employee Policy Manual residency requirements within sixty (60) days from date of hire
