Job description

Public & Government Affairs Lead

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and guarantee quality Public and Government Affairs (PGA) strategy with clear action plans which enable Bayer to build win-win relationships with key external stakeholders, influencing patient access to treatment.
• Collaborate with Product Teams to ensure alignment of PGA strategies with the respective product strategy and outcomes to make critical contributions from PGA perspectives.
• Actively build internal and external network to stay up-to-date on the regulatory and industry trends and gather critical and competitive information for the company/brand from various sources, including difficult to access sources.
• Analyze risks and opportunities related to changes in health policy to ensure responsiveness to policy changes while enhancing the accuracy of medium- to long-term business planning.
• Identify critical barriers in PGA that would hinder patient access to key brands and develop and execute strategies to minimize them.
• Plan and execute strategic engagement activities in the government, as well as industry associations, which would positively impact the achievement of business outcomes.
• Engage with cross-functional teams to integrate insights from PGA into the product development and the lifecycle management plans.

WHO YOU ARE:

• Bachelor’s degree or above.
• Several years of relevant experiences in pharmaceutical industry or in pharmaceutical related government authorities in Japan.
• At least 5 years of experience interacting with government authorities, academia and other relevant stakeholders are preferred.
• Strategic mind to play to win.
• Involve and collaborate with internal stakeholders.
• Open and innovative mind to co-create value with customers.
• Strong analytical skills to assess market dynamics and health policy impacts on product strategies.
• Ability to build relationships with regulatory bodies, associations and stakeholders to influence and negotiate.
• Fluent in Japanese and in English.
