Job summary

The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society is seeking a Full-Time Project Manager for Public Landscapes and Horticulture to coordinate operations and logistics across multiple public garden projects, manage contractors, staff, and a Pop-Up Gardener, and ensure projects meet goals, budgets, and timelines.

You will work with clients, staff, and stakeholders, develop site analyses, cost estimates, drawings, procurement lists, and supervise design-build and maintenance activities, with a hands-on

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture or horticulture preferred.
• 3–5 years of field experience in public horticulture, design-build firm, landscape management, or related fields.
• DOT Medical Card preferred.
• Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Manages all aspects of Public Garden and Landscape contracts within budgeted cost and timeframe.
• Oversees ongoing maintenance operations for assigned sites.
• Interfaces with Finance to monitor budgets and profitability for fee-for-service projects.
• Manages the Pop-Up Gardener and creates work schedules and task lists.
• Prepares site analysis, designs, cost estimates, drawings, and procurement lists for landscape renovations.
• Keeps regular meetings with contractors to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Builds relationships with staff, clients, consultants, and contractors to achieve project goals.
• Translates client needs into project results and communicates findings through agendas and minutes.
• Provides technical assistance on landscape design, construction, and maintenance.
