Job summary

Orange County Government seeks an experienced landscape technician to maintain Exploration Gardens and Extension grounds. You will perform planting, pruning, mowing, irrigation maintenance, and pest management to support an educational community resource.

The role requires 3–5 years of hands-on landscaping experience, a High School diploma or equivalent, and FDACS pesticide license or ability to obtain within six months. Work is performed with independence under supervision.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 3–5 years landscaping and grounds maintenance experience preferred.
• FDACS Pesticide Applicator license or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled landscape maintenance across gardens and grounds.
• Install, inspect, repair, and maintain irrigation systems.
• Identify pests and plant diseases; apply fertilizers and pesticides per safety rules.
• Operate and perform maintenance on landscaping equipment.
• Collaborate with volunteers and coordinate safety practices.
• Develop maintenance schedules and monitor landscape conditions.
