Job summary

City of Nacogdoches, Texas seeks a Senior Accountant to join the Finance Department. You will perform advanced accounting operations, oversee financial reporting, monitor budgets, and manage capital asset and project accounting to ensure prudent stewardship of public funds.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or related field.
• Public Funds Investment Act Certification within 1 year of employment.
• Valid Texas driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger accounts, perform reconciliations and review financial transactions.
• Manage capital asset accounting, depreciation and CIP tracking.
• Monitor budget activity, prepare variance reports and assist with ACFR preparation.
• Coordinate audit activities and liaise with external auditors and regulatory agencies.
