The MIDAS-Council-of-Government in Fort Dodge, IA seeks a Fiscal Officer to manage financial records, reports, and the MIS for publicly funded programs. You will ensure compliance with state and federal finance regulations and support executive leadership.

Responsibilities include preparing accounts, payroll reports, tax forms, monthly/quarterly/annual statements, audits, and cost allocations. Strong Excel/Word/Fund Accounting/QuickBooks skills and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in accounting required; bachelor’s preferred.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in the accounting field or equivalent.
• Demonstrates computer skills with knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Word, Fund Accounting, and QuickBooks.
• Demonstrates organization skills and a high degree of accuracy.
• Must be bonded and have a valid driver’s license.

Responsabilités

• Prepares all accounts, ledgers, journals, billings, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable records for executive review.
• Provides financial reports and budget information to the Board monthly.
• Prepares monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports including payroll and tax forms.
• Assists in annual budget preparation and auditor materials.
• Reviews financial statements for accuracy and monitors program finances.
• Maintains confidential records and orderly files.
