City of Dodge City, KS is seeking an Assistant Finance Director to assist the Finance Director with oversight of the Finance Department’s accounting functions and financial reporting in a municipal context.

The role includes preparing monthly and special financial reports, supporting the annual audit, and coordinating bond programs, investments, and fixed assets. Strong accounting/analytical skills and public-sector experience are desired.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum of three (3) years experience in public sector finance and accounting operations.
• Preference for two (2) years of supervisory/management skills.
• Certified Public Finance Officer or ability to obtain certification.
• Ability to be bonded.

• Assist in the preparation of financial reports and supervise accounting services.
• Oversee operations and management of the Finance Department.
• Analyze and prepare monthly financial and fiscal reports for stakeholders.
• Assist with annual audit processes and bond program oversight.
• Maintain and monitor all accounting functions and city-wide reporting.
• Coordinate with auditors and gather information for city audits.
• Assist payroll and HR tasks as needed.
• Monitor and supervise investments, fixed assets and cash flow.
