Qualifications

• Candidates possess strong skills in Finance and Financial Planning, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term fiscal strategy.
• Candidates possess skills in Financial Reporting and Financial Statements preparation, including compliance with governmental accounting standards.
• Candidates possess advanced Analytical Skills for interpreting financial data, evaluating trends, and supporting data-driven decisions.
• Relevant qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or a related field; a master’s degree or professional certification (such as CPA or CGFO) is preferred.
• Beneficial experience includes prior leadership in governmental or public sector finance, knowledge of GAAP and governmental accounting standards, proficiency with financial software and ERP systems, and strong communication and team leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Budgeting, forecasting, and long-term fiscal planning.
• Supervise financial reporting and prepare/review financial statements.
• Monitor revenues and expenditures and maintain internal controls and compliance.
• Collaborate with department heads and elected officials to provide financial analysis and recommendations, support annual audits, and develop policies and procedures to enhance financial efficiency and transparency.
• Lead and mentor finance staff to promote accuracy, integrity, and continuous improvement in all financial processes.
