Job summary

The Metropolitan Knoxville Airport Authority is seeking an Airport Security Officer to support safe, orderly operations at McGhee Tyson Airport. This public-facing role involves directing traffic, patrolling, inspections, and assisting the public in an outdoor setting, with weekend availability and possible overtime during peak operations.

You will receive on-the-job training, no prior experience required beyond dependability and a service mindset; certification in CPR/AED/BLS is provided after

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Customer service experience and security awareness are a plus.
Ability to obtain Basic Life Support, CPR, and AED certification after hire; training provided.

Responsibilities

Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic to maintain safe flow.
Patrol assigned airport areas and monitor activity on property.
Issue parking citations as needed.
Provide directions and respond professionally to inquiries.
Conduct routine security checks, inspections, screenings, escorts, and permit duties.
Support Public Safety Officers during events and operations.
Follow MKAA, TSA, and DHS rules and procedures.
