Job summary

Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District is seeking an Assistant General Counsel (ACG I–III) to provide legal advice, counsel, strategy and project management on assigned transactional matters under the direction of the Chief Legal Officer. The role requires in-house or public entity experience and involves collaboration with executive leadership and the Board of Trustees.

The position emphasizes Labor & Employment and governance matters.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Strong client service and written/verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage projects, meet deadlines and handle emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and counsel to Sewer District departments.
• Represent the district in negotiations, settlements and with outside counsel.
• Draft and review legal documents, contracts, filings and reports.
• Conduct legal research and support litigation strategy.
• Maintain knowledge of Ohio public laws and ensure regulatory compliance.
