GREATER CLEVELAND REGIONAL TRANSIT AUTHORITY in Cleveland, OH seeks a Director of Legal Affairs to lead all legal functions and ensure regulatory compliance across the organization. This on-site, full-time role partners with executive leadership, manages contracts, governance, labor and public safety issues, and guides policy development while coordinating with external counsel.

Candidates should hold a Juris Doctor degree and be licensed to practice in Ohio; public sector or transportation law

Qualifications

JD from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in Ohio.
Progressive legal experience, preferably in public sector, transportation, municipal, or related regulatory environments.
Strong negotiation and contract drafting skills with attention to risk.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Commitment to equity, inclusion, and public service.

Responsibilities

Oversee legal strategy and risk management for the organization.
Provide counsel to executive leadership on governance, procurement, labor, and compliance.
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements.
Coordinate with external counsel and support training on legal standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support informed decision-making.
