Job summary

Horrocks in Pleasant Grove, UT is seeking a Public Engagement Specialist to support the Transportation department. You will plan outreach, create informational materials, and collaborate with our in-house design team to produce print and digital collateral.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of professional experience in a similar industry.
• Ability to work and collaborate with team members, clients, and the public.
• Writing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.
• Proactive, self-starter.
• Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience in public/media relations and/or community engagement/public involvement strategies is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Marketing, etc. is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the planning and execution of strategic outreach plans in local and outside markets
• Produce content and distribute public information materials, including flyers, door hangers, websites, newsletters, mass and social, presentations, exhibit boards, maps, etc.
• Work with in-house graphic design team to create print and digital collateral
• Assist with special events including public meetings and hearings, open houses, groundbreakings, ribbon cuttings, and project tours
• Maintain project delivery documentation
• Monitor public email and hotline accounts while responding to inquiries as needed
