Job summary

Horrocks is seeking a Public Engagement professional to assist in planning and executing strategic outreach plans in local and external markets. You will produce content for public information materials and collaborate with the in-house graphic design team to create print and digital collateral.

The role emphasizes writing, proofreading, verbal communication, and proactive collaboration with clients and the public.

Qualifications

• Writing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.
• Proactive, self-starter.
• Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience in public/media relations and/or community engagement/public involvement strategies is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Marketing, etc. is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Produce content and distribute public information materials, including flyers, door hangers, websites, newsletters, mass and social, presentations, exhibit boards, maps, etc.
• Work with in-house graphic design team to create print and digital collateral
• Assist with special events including public meetings and hearings, open houses, groundbreakings, ribbon cuttings, and project tours
• Maintain project delivery documentation
• Monitor public email and hotline accounts while responding to inquiries as needed

What are the core responsibilities for the role?
