Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Junior Public Engagement & Outreach Analyst to support planning and delivery of meaningful, inclusive engagement for electric transmission projects. You will build relationships with landowners, communities, public officials, agencies, Tribal representatives, environmental justice communities, and other stakeholders from planning through closeout.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, public policy, environmental studies, planning, political science, community development, or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience)
• 2–4 years of relevant experience in stakeholder engagement, public affairs, community relations, or communications
• Ability to translate technical project information into clear, understandable language for diverse audiences
• Strong research, organization, technical writing, and communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and familiarity with stakeholder relationship databases or GIS-based outreach tools
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 25% of time for site visits, community events, and evening/weekend public meetings

Responsibilities

• Conduct outreach using established scripts, templates, and engagement protocols.
• Maintain stakeholder databases, action-item trackers, comment logs, contact lists, and project records
• Participate in meetings with landowners, communities, agencies, and public officials
• Apply established guidance to identify questions, issues, and commitments requiring escalation.
• Develop foundational knowledge of transmission projects, permitting processes, and community engagement practices.
