Job summary

DLA Piper seeks an associate to join its corporate group in New York, Miami, San Francisco, or Boston. The candidate will execute merger and acquisitions transactions for public companies, with an emphasis on drafting principal acquisition agreements and direct negotiation thereof.

Required: a JD degree and admission to practice in the relevant U.S. state, with at least four years of AmLaw100 firm experience and a strong academic record from a nationally recognized school.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of experience executing merger and acquisitions transactions for public companies.
• Direct and applicable AmLaw100 firm experience is required.
• Strong academic background from nationally recognized schools.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case/transaction preparation and strategy.
• Draft briefs, motions, contracts, and correspondence with high accuracy.
• Assist/manage complex cases/transactions from inception to resolution, including negotiations and closings.
• Build and maintain internal and external client relationships with professionalism.
