The Oregon Department of Human Services is seeking an Eligibility Worker (Public Benefits Specialist) to interview applicants, determine eligibility for SNAP, Medicaid, and other programs, and provide trauma-informed, person-centered service in the East Branch - Portland office.

Three vacancies exist, one requiring English/Spanish bilingual skills; the role involves in-person and phone interviews, and may include bilingual duties with a language test and differential pay upon passing.

Qualificações

• One year of experience at the Human Services Specialist 1 level, or two years working with the public.
• An associate degree in a Behavioral Science, Social Science or closely related field with six months of experience.
• Experience delivering services with equity and trauma-informed approaches.

Responsabilidades

• Interview applicants in-person and by phone to gather information for benefits.
• Perform eligibility determinations, redeterminations, and reviews.
