Community Legal Services - Central Florida (CLS) seeks a Public Benefits Staff Attorney to deliver legal services for Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare, SNAP, and other benefits. You will collaborate with CLS teams and community partners to promote economic stability and client-centered advocacy in a trauma-informed framework.

The role emphasizes representation in administrative and court proceedings, staying current with federal and Florida public benefits laws, and contributing to education

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Membership in good standing with The Florida Bar.
• Must be bondable and able to travel within CLS’s 12-county service area.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice, counsel, and representation concerning SSDI, SSI, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, SNAP, TANF/TCA, and related benefits.
• Evaluate client eligibility for legal services and identify issues affecting access to benefits.
• Represent clients in administrative proceedings, hearings, appeals, and related filings; prepare pleadings and briefs.
