Position Summary

The Public Area Attendant is responsible for cleaning and maintaining all items and surfaces in designated areas, ensuring hotel's standards of cleanliness, organization, and welcoming environment as well as support to laundry and housekeeping as assigned. Ensure the confidentiality of all guests. Supports the needs and comfort of all Hotel guests and staff as established by hotel and Company procedures and standards. This is a non-exempt (hourly paid) position.

Position Summary

The Public Area Attendant is responsible for cleaning and maintaining all items and surfaces in designated areas, ensuring hotel's standards of cleanliness, organization, and welcoming environment as well as support to laundry and housekeeping as assigned. Ensure the confidentiality of all guests. Supports the needs and comfort of all Hotel guests and staff as established by hotel and Company procedures and standards. This is a non-exempt (hourly paid) position.

Duties And Responsibilities

Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times, while providing personalized service to hotel guests.

Communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members.

Follow all safety, hygiene, and cleanliness protocols at all times.

Thoroughly clean and sanitize all public restrooms to include sinks, toilets, urinals, mirrors, tile, counters walls, stalls vents and floors with Company provided and approved cleaning agents and supplies.

Walkways Swept, clean free of debris

Stairwells Free of debris and handrails cleaned

Fitness Center Cleaned and restocked

Guest Laundry room clean and stocked regularly

Cleans pool area, sanitize, clean, and restocks fitness center with towels, cleans the guest laundry room, sanitizes vending equipment, sanitize handrails, door handles, light switches, etc.

Thoroughly dusts all furniture, pictures, and shelves in all indoor and outdoor public areas.

Cleans and polishes all brass, silver and woodwork throughout the hotel.

Cleans elevator doors, mirrors and railings, ice and vending machines.

Assist with stripping beds and in laundry/housekeeping as needed.

Completes any projects assigned by the supervisor,

Empties all wastebaskets in all public areas and discards any additional trash throughout the hotel.

Shampooing carpeting or spot cleaning throughout the hotel

Maintain cleanliness of dumpster areas, sand urns, exterior light fixtures, public benches, exterior of guest room doors.

Provide assistance to other team members and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department and hotel.

Report any missing/found articles, or damage to the Housekeeping Supervisor or Front Office Manager.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Qualifications

Able to kneel, bend and/or crawl.

Able to squat and crouch.

Able to work in confined spaces.

Able to tolerate exposure to dust and cleaning agents.

Able to lift, push, pull and carry a minimum weight of approximately 30-50lbs.

Able to stand/walk for long periods of time.

Willingness and ability to function as an effective team member through good communication and cooperation.

Must demonstrate flexibility and ability to adapt to change

Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines

Ability to maintain confidentiality and be discreet

Must be able to multi-task and handle pressure

Must be able to follow instructions and to accept feedback

Willing to work beyond normal working hours, weekends, holidays, and/or on other shifts and in other positions, when necessary
