Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for cleaning and maintaining all items and surfaces in designated areas, ensuring the hotel's standards of cleanliness, organization, and a welcoming environment. Ensure the confidentiality of all guests. Support the needs and comfort of all hotel guests and staff as established by hotel and company procedures and standards. This is a non-exempt (hourly paid) position.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Demonstrates knowledge and commitment to the company's mission, values, and standards of ethical behavior and outstanding customer service both internally and externally.
  • Models a positive and professional image that emulates the organization's mission and encourages a spirit of cooperation with co-workers.
  • Provides support to co-workers and promotes teamwork by sharing useful information to achieve desired results.
  • Ensures all employees are treated fairly, with kindness and dignity.
  • Maintains a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times, providing personalized service to hotel guests.
  • Communicates effectively with guests and team members.
  • Clean and maintain guest rooms, hallways, and public areas in the hotel.
  • Follow all safety, hygiene, and cleanliness protocols at all times.
  • Service guest rooms daily according to hotel procedures.
  • Stock carts with room supplies and replace bed linens, replenishing guest room supplies.
  • Conduct 'deep cleaning' activities within guest rooms along with preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Complete projects assigned by the supervisor.
  • Perform deep cleaning activities such as shampooing carpeting or spot cleaning throughout the hotel.
  • Always look for opportunities to create a 'Moment of Wow' to enhance guest experience.
  • Assist other team members and departments to contribute to overall department and hotel performance.
  • Report missing/found articles or damages to the Housekeeping Supervisor or Front Office.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory issues, and professional standards; recommend process improvements.
  • Participate in workshops and seminars as needed to stay current with industry training.
  • Communicate relevant information to management.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures; maintain necessary reference and training materials.
  • Perform other related duties, including cross-training in other roles as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2-4 years' experience in the hospitality industry highly preferred.
  • Able to kneel, bend, squat, and perform physical tasks required for cleaning duties.
  • Willingness and ability to work as an effective team member, demonstrating good communication skills.
  • Must demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to change.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and high accuracy.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Willing to work beyond normal hours, including weekends, holidays, and other shifts when necessary.
