Job Description
The Public Area Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the public areas of the hotel, including the back of house areas.
Job Requirements
- Clean and maintain the hotel lobby, meeting spaces, public restrooms, and other public areas.
- Maintain the appearance of surrounding areas such as sidewalks, brass awning poles, signage, entrances, and alleys.
- Perform deep cleaning tasks, including shampooing carpets, washing windows, cleaning light fixtures, and guest elevators.
- Keep back of house areas clean, including employee break rooms, laundry rooms, the compactor area, and employee restrooms.
- Check and replenish supplies and cleaning tools.
- Greet guests professionally and courteously.
- Respond promptly to guest requests.
- Follow procedures for entering and leaving guest rooms.
- Return lost items to the Housekeeping department's lost and found.
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED, or 1-3 months of related experience/training, or equivalent.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, instructions, and manuals; capable of writing routine reports.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, handle objects, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and smell; occasionally sit.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds regularly, 20-30 pounds frequently, and over 35 pounds occasionally; good vision required.
