Job summary

County of El Dorado is seeking an Agency Compliance Officer to lead the compliance and privacy function across the Health and Human Services Agency, ensuring regulatory adherence and quality improvement across programs funded by federal and state sources. The role advises executive leadership on compliance and privacy matters while coordinating with County Counsel and providers.

The ideal candidate will have extensive regulatory expertise within a small, integrated health and human services

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, law, health administration or closely related field; master's highly desirable.
• Six years of professional Health or Human Services regulatory compliance experience with audits and corrective actions; at least two years in a public-sector entity and at least three in supervision.
• Licenses and certifications listed: Healthcare Compliance Certification (CCB) within 12 months; valid driver’s license; CHPS/CPHQ/AWI or CA Bar membership desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate policies, procedures, monitoring systems, internal controls and corrective action plans to ensure adherence to federal and state program requirements.
• Coordinate interactions with federal and state regulatory agencies on compliance and privacy matters.
• Lead Compliance Committee and provide guidance on regulatory expectations and best practices.
• Conduct and oversee compliance and privacy audits, monitoring activities, investigations, risk assessments, and follow-up of corrective actions.
• Receive and respond to reports of potential compliance or privacy incidents and ensure proper documentation and reporting.
