Calloway & Associates, Inc. seeks a Public Affairs Specialist to support the USAO, with the option to work in Dallas, TX.
The role focuses on planning and managing social media, media relations, and public information campaigns to inform the public and stakeholders. Requirements include a 2-year degree and at least one year of PR experience, plus strong communication skills and the ability to work with diverse agencies.
We are seeking an experienced Public Relations Specialist (PRS) capable of performing the following duties:
a) Implements the USAO’s social media program with an emphasis on planning for and managing communications on social media platforms as well as developing tactically and strategically social media use for the public affairs office. This includes:
b) Plans, directs, and executes statewide and national campaigns to convey complex and controversial information concerning the USAO's initiatives, programs, and operations. Information and outreach programs represent the interests of various law enforcement agencies involved, as well as providing fair representation to special interest groups. In this regard:
c) Provides assistance and advisory services to public affairs specialists at the Departmental and office levels. Initiates and maintains direct contact with the public, specialized groups, and community and governmental entities directly affected by the USAO 's programs. These duties include:
Must possess a 2-year college degree or higher.
A minimum of one year’s experience in public relations.
Ability to use, understand, and maintain directories, personnel lists, and other guides and references to provide a variety of information on the office and to refer questions to other offices.
Skill in meeting and dealing with people in a courteous and tactful manner.
Skill in operating a computer terminal, personal computer, various office machines (fax, scanner, copier, etc.).
Knowledge and understanding of the mission, functions, and litigative activities of the USAO.
Knowledge of oral and written communication techniques.
U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain adjudication for the prerequisite background investigation. Physical location within the general geographic commuting radius of the USAO Dallas office.
