PTTC Training & Technical Assistance Fellow

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the New England PTTC Director within ADEPT Educational Institute of Maine, the Training & Technical Assistance Fellow is responsible for supporting regional and national prevention workforce development initiatives through training, technical assistance, project coordination, communications, evaluation, and partnership activities.

This one-year fellowship provides hands-on experience in prevention science, workforce development, public health education, project management, and collaborative learning. The Fellow will assist with training and technical assistance activities serving prevention professionals across the six New England states while participating in the national Prevention Technology Transfer Center (PTTC) Fellowship Program.

The Fellow will work closely with experienced prevention professionals and receive mentorship, professional development opportunities, and exposure to regional and national prevention systems.

This is a full-time temporary role, with benefits, available from October 1, 2026 – September 30, 2027.

Location:

A hybrid in-office/remote work schedule is available using ADEPT provided equipment. Due to the temporary nature of the position, a more fully remote option may be available for the right candidate. However; occasional physical attendance in Augusta location and at events is required. Residence within a commutable distance is necessary. Reliable, secure internet is required during remote work.

Required Qualifications:

• Interest in substance misuse prevention, behavioral health, public health, or community based prevention

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, or current enrollment in a bachelor's or master's degree program, in public health, prevention, behavioral health, psychology, social work, education, communications, public administration, or a related field preferred.
• Experience supporting trainings, meetings, conferences, webinars, or community initiatives.
• Experience conducting research, literature reviews, data collection, or program evaluation duties.

Essential Duties

Regional Training & Technical Assistance Activities

• Assist with responding to training and technical assistance requests from prevention professionals and organizations throughout New England.
• Support the planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of trainings, webinars, workshops, conferences, and other workforce development initiatives.
• Develop, review, and update prevention resources, technical assistance materials, communications, and outreach content, including website, newsletter, social media, and promotional materials.
• Conduct literature reviews, environmental scans, resource research, and data collection activities to support prevention initiatives, workforce development projects, and program evaluation efforts.
• Assist with project management activities, including meeting coordination, documentation, timeline management, tracking deliverables, and preparing reports and summaries.
• Provide logistical and technical support for virtual and in-person events, including registration, participant communications, event materials, and learning platforms.
• Participate in meetings with prevention professionals, partner organizations, and stakeholders and represent the New England PTTC at conferences, meetings, and outreach events as appropriate.
• Contribute to special projects that strengthen the prevention workforce and advance regional priorities.

National PTTC Fellowship Activities

• Participate in national fellowship trainings, professional development activities, collaborative learning opportunities, and fellowship cohort meetings.
• Collaborate with fellows and prevention professionals nationwide on projects that advance prevention practice and workforce development.
• Complete fellowship assignments, projects, and learning activities established by the PTTC Fellowship Program.
• Develop and maintain an individualized learning plan and apply knowledge and skills gained through fellowship activities to regional PTTC initiatives.

Administrative & Organizational Support

• Maintain professional and collaborative working relationships with staff, partners, and stakeholders.
• Participate in New England PTTC staff meetings and organizational activities as assigned.
• Complete required documentation, reporting, administrative activities, and grant or contract deliverables related to fellowship responsibilities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the New England PTTC Director.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit and stand intermittently as required in an office environment.
• Ability to use a computer for extended periods of time.
• Some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of object and materials of moderate weight (up to 50lbs)

Travel Requirements

• Travel may occasionally be required throughout New England to attend meetings, conferences and training events.
• Periodic out-of-region travel within the US to participate in national PTTC Fellowship Program activities and cohort meetings.
