Job summary

BRAZOSPORT COLLEGE is seeking an Adjunct – Sociology Instructor for a part-time position in Lake Jackson, TX. This role is filled on an as-needed basis before or during each semester based on the College's needs.

Applicants must hold a Master’s degree in Sociology or a related discipline with at least eighteen graduate hours in Sociology. Teaching responsibilities include using diverse methods to deliver Sociology courses and collaborating with the Division Chair of Social Sciences and Business.

• Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Sociology or a master’s degree with a minimum of eighteen (18) graduate hours in Sociology.
• Interest in alternative instructional delivery methods.
• Excellent communication skills.

Job Summary

Adjunct Instructors are hired in a part-time capacity on an as needed basis. These positions are filled prior to or during each semester and are contingent upon the needs of the College. Brazosport College accepts application materials for pool positions on a continuing basis throughout the year from qualified applicants willing to teach on a part-time basis. Academic departments will contact potential applicants when there are available openings.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Sociology or a master’s degree with a minimum of eighteen (18) graduate hours in Sociology from a regionally accredited college or university
• Interest in alternative instructional delivery methods
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Other qualities, experiences, and skills that enhance one’s value to the institution
• Exceptional employment or educational qualifications may be given special consideration as long as Southern Association (SACS) minimum educational credentials are met
