Job summary

Huntsville Rehabilitation & Wellness Center is seeking a compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our skilled nursing and rehabilitation team in Huntsville, Alabama. You will provide physical therapy treatments under a licensed Physical Therapist and help residents improve mobility, strength, balance, and independence.

Qualified graduates of an accredited PTA program with an Alabama PTA license are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
Current Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of Alabama.
Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
Long-term care or skilled nursing experience is preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

Provide physical therapy treatments under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
Carry out individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, strength, balance, endurance, and functional independence.
Assist residents with therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfer training, and other rehabilitation activities.
Monitor resident progress and communicate changes to the supervising Physical Therapist.
Document treatments, resident response, and progress in accordance with facility requirements.
Educate and encourage residents and families during rehabilitation.
Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and other team members to achieve maximal function for residents.
Maintain resident safety, dignity, and confidentiality at all times.
