Job summary

Sweetwater Care in California seeks a Physical Therapy Assistant to support licensed therapists in helping patients recover and regain independence after illness, injury, or surgery. You will assist in planned therapy programs, document services, and help patients improve mobility, balance and function.

Under supervision, you will develop and implement individualized treatment plans, coordinate with other disciplines, and ensure care follows the Plan of Care and professional standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Valid PTA license or certification in the state of practice.
• Proof of license eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide support care to residents pursuing short-term/transitional recovery and rehabilitation goals.
• Assist in delivering quality patient care under supervision of licensed therapists.
• Document all services provided for accurate and timely billing of therapy services.
• Ensure care follows the Plan of Care, guidelines, standards, and legal requirements.
• Under supervision, identify and develop a plan of care; implement individualized therapy programs.
• Identify need for referrals to other disciplines to address patient needs under supervision.
• Other duties may be assigned at any time.
