Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital- Nashville is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our full-time team. The PTA will support the physical therapy department with therapeutic exercises, mobility training, and assistive device instruction in a post-ICU recovery environment.

Responsibilities include implementing PT plans, aiding in treatment sessions, and helping patients achieve functional goals with a focus on safety and compassionate care in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Valid state PTA license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required by start date.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the delivery of physical therapy services including transportation, therapeutic exercises and functional activities.
• Implement treatment goals, plans, and programs as established by the physical therapist (PT).
• Assist the PT in carrying out therapeutic interventions to meet long-term goals, including strengthening, balance and endurance training, posture, and functional skills.
• Train patients in locomotion using orthotics, prosthetics or assistive devices.
