Job summary

AvaMed Workforce is seeking a qualified Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for a position at a Fresno healthcare facility. The PTA will provide physical therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist and contribute to rehabilitation goals and accurate clinical documentation.

We offer a competitive pay rate of $50.00 per hour with weekly pay, and the role requires licensure in California, BLS, and strong teamwork with a multidisciplinary staff.

Qualifications

• Current and valid California Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license required.
• Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to follow established treatment plans and work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Ability to meet facility credentialing, background screening, and onboarding requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy treatments and interventions under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Implement established treatment plans to improve patient mobility, strength, balance, and functional independence.
• Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfer training, and mobility activities.
• Monitor patient responses to treatment and report changes in condition to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and timely patient treatment documentation.
• Educate patients on therapeutic exercises, mobility techniques, and safety precautions.
• Collaborate with Physical Therapists, nursing personnel, and other healthcare professionals to support patient care.
• Ensure compliance with facility policies, infection control procedures, and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Perform other duties within the scope of practice of a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant.
