Job summary

Owensboro Community and Technical College invites applications for a full-time Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Program Director/Instructor in the Business, Health & Public Service Department. The Program Director will lead the PTA program through development, CAPTE accreditation, and ongoing compliance, while overseeing curriculum, assessment, budgeting, and student advising.

Qualifications

• MFA or higher?
• Mastery in educational theory and evaluation is required or preferred.
• CAPTE-related knowledge and accreditation process experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Program Director for the PTA program.
• Lead the program through CAPTE accreditation and initial launch.
• Ensure compliance with CAPTE standards and institutional policies.
• Provide academic and administrative leadership, budgeting, and curriculum oversight.
• Teach PTA courses in classroom or clinical settings.
• Coordinate program assessment and handle outcomes reporting.
• Develop clinical partnerships and maintain external relationships.
• Support recruitment, admissions, and student retention.
