Job summary

Pima Medical Institute in San Marcos, CA is seeking a dynamic PTA Program Director to lead the CAPTE-accredited associate degree PTA program on-site. This executive academic leadership role directs instructional staff, manages clinical/didactic education, oversees budgets, and ensures CAPTE compliance.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
  • Graduation from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist or PTA program.
  • Active PT or PTA license in California (or valid US jurisdiction).
  • Minimum five years of post-licensure clinical experience.
  • At least three years of direct clinical practice.
  • Nine academic semester credits in educational foundations.
  • Experience in teaching, instructional design, and student outcomes assessment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise PTA faculty and staff, delegate teaching assignments, and set instructional goals.
  • Coordinate educational workshops, in-service trainings, and mentorship programs.
  • Manage department budgets, review course content, and align curriculum with CAPTE.
  • Direct accreditation activities, annual reports, and CAPTE notifications.
  • Monitor graduation metrics, licensure pass rates, and graduate placement data.
  • Oversee clinical education plans, site visits, and affiliate standards.
  • Serve as a core classroom or lab instructor as needed.
