Job summary

Owensboro Community and Technical College invites applications for a full-time Physical Therapist Assistant Program Director/Instructor in the Business, Health & Public Service Department. The Program Director will oversee the PTA program development, launch, and CAPTE accreditation process.

The role provides academic and administrative leadership, including curriculum oversight, budgeting, student advising, and clinical partnership development, with teaching responsibilities across classroom,

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher from an accredited institution.
• Active PT/PTA license or certification in any US jurisdiction.
• Minimum of five years post-licensure experience, including three years of clinical experience.
• Experience in classroom, laboratory, clinical, and/or professional teaching.
• Experience in administration, management, and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Program Director for the Physical Therapist Assistant Program.
• Lead the program through the initial accreditation process following CAPTE guidelines.
• Maintain CAPTE compliance and reporting requirements, policies, and procedures.
• Provide leadership in program planning, assessment, budgeting, curriculum development, and continuous quality improvement.
• Teach PTA courses in classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings.
• Coordinate program assessment activities and monitor outcomes to guide improvement.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clinical sites, educators, employers, and community partners.
• Participate in student recruitment, admissions, retention, and graduation activities.
• Stay current with contemporary PT practice and accreditation standards.
• Participate in college committees and institutional initiatives.
